SEPTEMBER / SWIRLY RECORDS / LIKE IT
Colour of Spring are a band from Leeds and this is their new single Snow. Right now we are beginning to say farewell to Summer and hello to the dreary months of Autumn, so we need something that will fit the scene. Fortunately Snow is a track that embraces dreariness and is a very fine candidate to represent this imminent season.
A huge wall of distorted guitars and hazy melodies fill the airwaves as Snow makes its way into the eardrums with a scintillating intro. This soon makes way for an instrumental that sounds heavily influenced by Shoegaze and 80’s electronic as Colour of Spring provide melodies that forever pummel against the crashing drums and watery guitar riffs to deliver something that features accessibility as well as ferocity to it.
Snow is a great track to lose your mind to. It’s a track that hits hard in parts while caressing the ears in others, providing a solid contrast that fits in very well with the overarching Autumn time that’s fast approaching. Colour of Spring pack it full of melodies, harmonies and riffs to keep it constantly shifting into something different, and it makes for a very refreshing, entertaining listen. Nice work guys.
