Ohhhhh they’re back! No Hot Ashes were one of the bright sparks of last year thanks to the release of debut single ‘Goose’, and now they make a confident entrance into 2017 with ‘Bellyaches’, a swaggering little number that leaves you feeling more than just a little sick.
One of the best discoveries I’ve made through Sounds Good has got to be The Glass Child. The project of Charlotte Eriksson originally blew my mind with the release of “White Spaces” and then did the exact same with new song “Black Rose”, which was reviewed on Monday. It’s been a pleasure to hold an interview with her. In this interview we talk about “White Spaces”, her beginnings, her productivity and her plans for her new EP This Silence Now. Enjoy!
Hey The Glass Child,What’s the story behind how you became The Glass Child? Where did the name come from? The Glass Child has been with me since I was very young, although it has collected a lot of meaning along the way. It reflects the will to be seen, to reach out with my music, but still not wanting anyone to come close enough. The fear of rejection but still the will to get yourself out there.

The Glass Child blew the mind with the release of “White Spaces” at the start of the month with a startling performance full of fragile instruments and vulnerable lyrics, and looks set to build upon that with new single “Black Rose”. STONES THROW RECORDS / RATING: SOUNDS GREAT / RELEASE OF THE WEEK
Tuxedo returns with Tuxedo II. The long-term project of veteran crooner Mayer Hawthorne and established producer Jake One took off back in 2015 as their self-titled debut granted a surprise hit in “Do It” as well as a host of other perfect instrumentals for the bedroom, introducing themselves to the world as the laid-back, smooth talking version of Run the Jewels. The second addition to the Tuxedo discography looks to cement their place as a solid source of feel good RnB, and it certainly does that in a big way.
Hop out of bed, stretch out the remaining slumbers of last night, open the curtains and be blinded by the light, SUNFACE returns with a new EP! You know sometimes Music doesn’t always have to be depressing to be good. It can also be the brightest spark of happiness that has sunshine shining out of it’s backside, and that’s exactly what’s happening here with Ian Jaco’s wondrous debut single ‘Life’.
