Sounds Good’s Good Sounds | Spotify Playlist (25.10.17)

Sounds Good's Good Sounds' playlist has been updated! Check out some new music

Hello! As well as providing solid, well (ish) written reviews and recommending the hottest and best new music on a regular basis, we’ve also been curating a Spotify Playlist each week for those who’d like to experience new music directly into their lugholes. The Sounds Good’s Sound Good Playlist offers a short collection of tracks that have appeared in the blog’s email inbox or submission queues, or tracks that I’ve personally stumbled across via Spotify’s Discover playlist or Hot New Bands playlist.

I’ve not really given it the hype it deserves and have been a little sloppy on promoting it, so here’s a big old post about it that should (hopefully) become a regular thing every Wednesday. Below will be the playlist itself, as well as the setlist alongside a little sentence or two on why I dig the track a lot. We’ve got SIX followers so far which is great, so hopefully that’ll continue to grow and we can all listen to good music together. Love you. Enjoy.

Sounds Good’s Good Sounds | Setlist (25.10.17)

Vuromantics – ‘In The Night’ | It appeared on last week’s setlist and is our Song of the Week this week. I cannot get enough of this little jam.

NVDES – ‘Turning Heads’ | There’s something about a disjointed guitar riff that gets me going. This track is packed with funk, groove and slightly unnerving breathy vocal harmonies. It’s raw in execution by delivers hugely throughout, so good.

Daye Jack – ‘Kick – Door’ | The Bass guitar lets loose on this track and it’s great to hear. Snappy drums, swear words, grooves upon grooves upon grooves – what could go wrong?

Novelistme – ‘Something Brutal’ | We head into the slightly fuzzy as ‘Something Brutal’ performs some lo-fi goodness. Upbeat drums add a bit of sunshine to the distorted guitars and it all makes for some mild mindfuckery.

Happy Abandon – ‘Beneath Our Feet’ | Oooooh, a little taste of what to expect on Friday. I won’t say much right now, but this is a great song.

The Curious Incident – ‘Got Ya’ | I’d like to know what the curious incident was, but whatever it was spawned this lovely song. Full of strange blips and noises throughout, this traditionally Indie hit aims for the astronomical and succeeds in every way.

Biyo – ‘Fantasies’ | Another spoiler of what’s to come on Friday. Ohhh lord, I’m leaking worse than HBO right now. This song reminds me a lot of Metronomy, but with just a little added dose of lust. Naughty.

Cautious Clay – ‘Joshua Tree’ | This song was featured today! It’s glorious and a great example of why new artists should take risks with their sound.

Lisabel – ‘I’m More Than One’ | Lisabel has been in touch lately and I must say, I am a fan. This track is one of a few singles released but I cannot get enough of it. That drum intro seeps right into the mind, and it’s bouncy beat adds a little spring to my step. Nice work.

Still A Great Night – ‘Still A Great Night’ | Our Release of the Week this week! One of the more original songs I’ve heard this year, and it blends the whole spoken word thing very well with the harsh nightclub synths. Awesome stuff.
