The Mu-Tones – ‘Slab City Records’ | Single Review

‘Slab City Records’ is the debut single from Manchester trio The Mu-Tones. I’d imagine Slab City Records as a record label that only specialises in artists who use slabs as instruments, and it’d have “A Slab to the Face’ as the tagline. Awesome.

Anyway, The Mu-Tones debut effort is a scuzzy little number with dirty basslines, thunderous drums and guitar riffs that seem to flip between muted tones and wailing screams, creating this immensely satisfying sound. The many tempo changes keeps the ears on it’s toes (what) and ensures that everything sounds very fresh and exciting throughout. I like it.
