Single Review

North Parade’s exciting debut single | “Birmingham”

North Parade are a four piece from London and “Birmingham” is their debut single. Welcome to the world of music boys. They’re set to headline the Camden Assembly this Saturday 23rd February so once you’ve fallen in love with the single, head on down and bop along to them like the mad angel you are.

“Birmingham” is a powerful introduction to North Parade. Moody guitars give off vibes of The Cure at their happiest moments as the band lay down melodic moments that cut through the distorted riffs with ease. It’s got all the tools to be a straight up Indie hit, but the band pack it with some seriously dark lyricism in parts that seem to fit perfectly with the downward spiralling effect of the instrumental. It eventually becomes enveloped by the shadowy texture of the guitars, before blossoming into a finale that’s filled with vibrancy and desires to dance.

This is a brilliant debut effort from North Parade and one that not only satisfies immediately but also leaves us excited to hear where this emerging act go from here. Nice one lads.
