Loved Single Review

Leave your inhibitions at the door and dance, Picnic’s “Wishful Drinking” is all you need.

Picnic have been undergoing a bit of a re-evaluation in recent times. The Sunderland act have had a soft reboot after believing their material hadn’t lived up to the standards of their live shows, but look to establish new foundations with new single and fan favourite “Wishful Drinking”.

This little number details the struggles of over-thinking, over-drinking and over-drinking to stop over-thinking. A cool horn section dabbles in the air against snappy drums as the mind wanders during the chorus, and soon explodes into a flood of thoughts and upbeat vibes as Picnic let loose on the airwaves. It’s bright and catchy beyond belief, leaving us to concentrate solely on one thought: this song is good. Leave your inhibitions at the door and dance, “Wishful Drinking” is all you need.
