Every now and then we hear a single from an upcoming artist that makes us think “Fuck, they’re gonna be good”. “In Bloom” is the new single from Rosie Shaw, following from her debut “Trust Issues”. It is also the latest song to make us need to wash our minds with soap.
“In Bloom” is a song that allows Rosie’s vocals to take the spotlight but backs up her voice with an instrumental that’s emotive and swings ever so slightly. Pianos, guitars and percussion wander in the background to create a sound that grooves in the background while ensuring to bloom for the song’s biggest moments. It also makes sure to keep up with the direction of Rosie’s voice, influenced by the likes of Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin and Lianne La Havas, is full of soul.
As you can probably tell we absolutely love “In Bloom”. It produces some of the most organic moments we’ve heard in ages, and takes you along for a ride to experience all of the emotion it feels. It is powerful and simply glorious, and we cannot wait to hear more from Rosie Shaw soon.
