Good morning all! Welcome to this week’s roundup of the Good Sounds Playlist. This week is named ENEMIES after the track by Miss June, who features today alongside Pretty Sick who supported them at The Lexington on Thursday night. It was an immense night of noisey noisey Punk noise, and it was an experience that really helped put me at ease when it comes to going to gigs, especially in London.
As it was Mental Health Awareness Week last week, I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone to show that despite how we feel, we as individuals really can do anything. Over the years I’ve come to realise that I’ve treated events and invitations as something to avoid rather than as potential opportunities for something cool. This is why I’ve rarely stepped beyond my town and attended gigs in London, but despite all the anxiousness about the trains, the travel, the surroundings, the early hours, I had a fucking great time. So thank you to Miss June, Pretty Sick and my dear friend Greyme for helping me get over that fear.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the Good Sounds Playlist and all of the artists featured this week. If you fancy sharing it with all your friends, please do so and remember, it’s okay to be not okay. We’re all the same, and we’re always listening.
