Welcome to this week’s Good Sounds Playlist! Firstly, thank you to all of you who’ve followed. We’ve now crossed the 80 mark and heading closer towards that majestic 100! This week’s list promises to be a banger from start to finish, so much so we’re perfectly fine ruining our reputation by referring to it as a play-LIT. Oh jeez, that was terrible. End the blog here.
Thank you to Dead Coyotes for the name behind the playlist. “Where Demons Dance” is one of the more badass titles we’ve used this year, and the song itself is equally badass too. Proper QOTSA vibes ring through those monolithic guitar riffs, which coincides nicely with the appearance of Eagles of Death Metal with their cover of Mary J Blige’s “Family Affair”. Look out Weezer, there’s a new competitor jumping on the covers album game now.
You would’ve surely seen our review of St. Buryan’s new single “Breathe Deep” today, but make sure to come back for further thoughts about J.R., Fever Beam, and Denny later on this week. Lenny Bull return with their second single “Somebody Else”, which is a grooving little jive into 50’s goodness and Tom Boy’s “Lowrider”? WHAT A CHILL VIBE. Love it.
Pocket Sun provide psychedelic sounds with “Tightly” which sounds even better paired with it’s trippy music video, whilst Tundra’s “Navy Red” inject some much needed pace into the playlist. Airinna Namara adds additional Pop flair and Joe Ramsey closes proceedings with the wonderfully lovely “Stop & Start”.
