With the world on lockdown we’ve got quite a bit of time on our thoroughly washed hands, haven’t we? This extra time could be spent doing the things we enjoy as we recalibrate and remember the important things in life. One of the ways that I’ve spent this time so far is to continuously miss all sorts of cool gigs and events that are happening online, which is rubbish. As the ever-expanding roster of musicians now bottle-necks itself onto the internet, it’s pretty tough keeping up with all of the cool events and shows that are happening in the various nook and crannies of the world wide web.
This is why I’ve created the Lockdown Music Guide. A helpful guide designed to keep track of some of these cool events happening throughout May. Below will be a list of livestreams from artists and promoters from the UK and beyond, and will be updated on a weekly basis. I won’t be able to spend too much time researching, so would greatly appreciate your help in this. If you’re an artist, promoter please get in touch. You can get in touch via email at email@example.com or on Sounds Good’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
I’d like to mention the #saveourvenues campaign too. The situation means 556 grassroots music venues in the UK are currently at risk of closing for good, putting a real strain on the live music industry. Local venues are an important part of an artist’s career, and play a great service at introducing new artists to listeners. Without gigs, there is no moshing. Who can mosh at a library? NOBODY. You can find out ways to support the campaign via the Save Our Venues website, which also features upcoming livestreams from artists too.
Again, please get in touch if you’d like to have your upcoming event added. At the moment this guide is just for May, but another could be created should things continue in June. Thank you for checking out the Lockdown Music Guide. Good music, good vibes, always.

The 7 Arts Still Exist is a platform for all creatives, founded by Chloe Mogg and Amy Crouch. The platform began with Chloe and Amy wanting to create a place where both musicians and artists could share their talents in the same place, during the COVID-19 Global pandemic, after seeing various Facebook groups based around music but none for other areas within the arts.
On March 26th 2020, Amy proposed the idea of an entirely online festival to Chloe, with the aim of showcasing live music and curating an online exhibition. On April 18th and 19th 2020, the festival went live, with a line-up of 36 music acts, 18 hours of music, 26 artists and 118 artworks. They had support from their local BBC radio station, online magazines and the local news. This led the festival to great success; each live performance had an average of 650 views equalling to an overall of 23,400 views (circa) and the art exhibition had over 1000 views, proving that The 7 Arts Still Exist really is a proven amazing place for creatives to grow and connect. The second online festival is coming soon!
