SQUARMS return with new single “Ivy”. Having emerged from the shadows with last year’s “She Left the TV On”, the Newcastle duo look to kick off 2020 with another set of singles that keep building this train of momentum. All aboard!

“Ivy” sees the duo utilise lo-fi aesthetics to blend together a series of genres, creating something that’s visceral but full of direction. Delayed scatters of percussion glitch against the paper-thin wall of synthesisers; producing a sound that floats and warps the mind. Pitch-shifted vocals collide with these off-kilter beats with a performance full of anger and passion. The result is a song that takes over the airwaves, filling it with a sound that’s mechanical but full of grooves throughout. It’s an interesting listen, and one that intrigues the mind to want to hear more from SQUARMS soon.
