Sounds Good’s 2nd Birthday!! | Celebration & Thank You

Usually we don’t post on Sundays, but today is a very special exception. Sounds Good is TWO YEARS OLD today! I’m the Daddy to a toddler now, that’s absolutely mental. As it’s seemingly becoming tradition, I’d like to not only celebrate the blog but also celebrate the love and support that has been shown towards it over the last two years. It’s basically my way of saying thank you, and my golly do I need to say a lot of thanks.

Firstly, I wanted to say a huge thank you to those who provided messages to help bolster the idea I had of making a big ol’ video talking about this baby blog’s special day. It was weird asking people to do this and to have people respond really warmed the heart, so thank you to Vanessa of House in the Sand, Dale of Peni- Peanut Mixtape, Nessi of Carpe Carmina, Foxgluvv, Banzai Cliff and Guillotine Sunbeam for being wonderful people.

Secondly, I will be doing a huge list of various blogs, artists, labels and PR people just to say thank you and to show that there are so many people out there who have the same passion for Music and do a much better job of loving it. As mentioned in the video, I definitely wouldn’t be doing blogging nowadays if it wasn’t for the community that has emerged over the last couple years. I’ve had a couple moments where I’ve questioned it all but all of the Twitter threads, love and support from everyone, everywhere really helps keep me excited to be doing this. So to all of you guys, thank you so much. I love you.

FINALLY, there are a couple extras thrown in to celebrate this particular day. The first is that the Good Sounds Playlist is a special 2^nd birthday extravaganza, in that it’s fucking huge. There’ll be a separate post for it and well, I hope you enjoy. It’s a mix of new tracks I’ve discovered this past week, as well as certified bangers from loved artists and tracks from artists who have certainly helped shape my music taste in 2018. I hope you enjoy. It took bloody ages.

Also, as it is a big occasion, I’ve done another guitar cover…this time it’s Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’ and well, it’s pretty pants. If you think of it as a totally raw demo then it might be somewhat tolerable but if not then, I’m so sorry. It’ll be embedded below, and yeah! Thank you for not only making Sounds Good’s 2^nd birthday wonderful but for making the entirety of the last two years wonderful too. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you.
