LINES’s smooth new single “Velvet”

LINES return with new single “Velvet”. This Scandinavian act have released a modest number of singles over the last couple years, but did achieve success with “You”, which has since amassed six million streams on Spotify. Their blend of industrial synth-pop seems to be a winning formula, and you can certainly count yourself a winner after hearing this new jam.

The band’s stay in Berlin shines through as “Velvet” delivers a synthesiser beat that’s loaded with punch. Industrialised drums collide in the background to form a sturdy, gutsy rhythm section with the basslines and the vocals do a wonderful job dropping the hooks needed to turn this gritty number into a glorious Pop tune. Hints of MGMT influences are present throughout the song, but rather than take time to pretend it’s time to properly show off what a storming single this is by LINES.
