Good Sounds Playlist ¦ The Make-Believe

Good morning everybody! Welcome to this week’s Good Sounds Playlist. I’m pretty giddy to be writing this post as the playlist hit 100 FOLLOWERS on Spotify! We did it lads. The playlist was set up initially as a way to diversify Sounds Good as it was a reviews-only blog, which added the bonus of allowing more artists to get bigged up too, albeit in a slightly different format. As with everything blog-related I didn’t have any expectations and rolled with it, though had the 100 Follower mark come to mind when I saw people start subscribing. To actually achieve that is dead good, so thank you very much.

Anyway! The playlist this week is called THE MAKE-BELIEVE, after the superb new single from Waves of Dread. Having caused a stir with their eponymous debut album last year, the trio look to kick off their next chapter with an explosion of guitars and colour, making for some very exciting sounds. Equally compelling explosions from the likes of Fake Crush, Molly Moore & Keith Mosfet maintain those gritty sounds too.

Podge, Tallsaint, TeawhyB, Munkey Junkey and Grace Gillespie provide solid grooves with their new singles, with Tallsaint in particular cementing the fact that she’s proper good at dropping bangers. BOCA and Lucy Langlas soothe my three-hours-of-sleep-fuelled consciousness with their new, softer singles & Union Duke jingle jangle my mind into confuddlement with the country-tinged bop of “Ladidadida”. Awesome.
